Occupational injury statistics for France released

France has released OHS statistics for 2007.  The document is currently only available in French.  My schoolboy French translation of the introduction says France is experiencing most workplace incidents in the construction industry.

Men are more likely to be injured than women and that incidents are more common in companies with less than 500 employees.

Young workers have a higher injury rate than do older people but the injuries in the older age bracket have a greater severity.

So, if my translation is correct, France fits the statistical picture of the modern industrialised country.

If the document is released in English, detailed statistics will be available by category and, perhaps, with a comparison to previous years’ statistics.  Also my translation could be verified.
