A recent occupational health and safety (OHS) prosecution appeared to involve elements of both worker and employer complacency. Earlier this year, the Australian Institute of Health and Safety (AIHS) circulated a media release titled “Returning to Work: Peak Safety Body Warns Complacency Costs Lives.” The issue of complacency deserves some examination.
