Psychosocial Conflict & Confusion

Michael Plowright and I have launched a new limited-series podcast in support of National Safe Work Month.

Safe Work, Real Talk offers a plain-English discussion of the major issues around managing psychosocial hazards and psychological safety at work, bridging the HR and OH&S silos.

We bring together OHS practice, bullying research and real workplace stories to unpack how mental harm happens and how organisations can prevent it.

In Episode 1, we look at the messy intersection of psychosocial hazards, psychological safety and psychological injury, showing how HR, OHS and regulatory systems often create confusion rather than clarity. We dig into why small businesses struggle with limited resources and conflicting advice, while big organisations hide behind consultants and corporate language. The takeaway is that prevention and management have been siloed for too long, and only genuine collaboration and consultation will reduce harm and help people speak up, be respected and work safely.

Questions for answering on the show can be posted here or emailed to podcast@workingwelltogether.com.au. The full episode is at this SoundCloud link
