Surprisingly, the (conservative) Australian Government released its response to the final report and recommendations of the Senate Inquiry into Industrial Deaths in the week before Christmas. The lack of support for Industrial Manslaughter laws has not been received well by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) particularly after Australian Labor Party passed a resolution only two days ago supporting that these laws be rolled out nationally. However, the families of deceased workers have achieved progress in some important areas.
